On April 15, Shengda College introduced over twenty foreign faculty members to the sites and tastes of Luoyang City. Also on hand were officers of the Foreign Affairs Office and members of the Chinese faculty, acting as their guides and companions.

The day began with a visit to Longmen Grottoes, a premier Buddhist historic site of China. Here, teachers marveled at more than 10,000 ancient Buddhist figures carved into cave walls and cliff faces.

With their appetites ready, the teachers experienced the famous “Water Banquet” at Zhen Bu Tong restaurant. The banquet is known the endless dishes which seem to flow to the table with the speed of a cascading waterfall. Following lunch, the day was completed with viewing spring peonies in Wang Cheng Park.

Along with historic Kaifeng and Shaolin Temple, Luoyang is one of the most visited cities by foreign visitors to Henan.
